Each ceramic piece undergoes the same process; hand sculpted, fired, glazed, fired again. It takes at least a total 30 hours of fire for final result. This chemical process allows the piece to be totally functional for items like mugs-  washable, and food, heat safe. As it is now non-porous, the glaze serves as glass that is completely sealed.
